Sis’s Birthday Surprise: Skyline Luge Sentosa, The Knolls and Corner House

If you can remember, my sis threw me a wonderful birthday celebration six months ago by getting me a humongous helium balloon bouquet, bringing me to lunch at Tanuki Raw, then a macaron baking class at The Kitchen Society by Bonheur Patisserie (my absolute favourite macarons), followed by dinner at Basilico (you can read more about it here: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3). I knew it was not going to be easy but I had to do something to top her awesome effort for her birthday.

Hence, I had a full day planned for her special day. She had totally no idea what I had in store for her. We woke up early on Sunday and headed for Sentosa. Our first stop was Skyline Luge Sentosa, where I had gotten a Three Luge & Skyline Combo for $25 from their website. My sis loves the Luge, so we were off to a great start!

As it was pretty hazy, so we did not have to queue for our turns! We had fun taking the Skyline up to the top of the Luge track and zipping our way down on the speedy ride.

Our second stop of the day was The Knolls at Capella Singapore. I enjoyed my first visit so much (read more about it here), that I decided to bring my sis here for their Sunday Brunch. What I like about this place is that they pride themselves not only on variety but quality, so you can be rest assured that you are getting your money worth in spades.

My sis was impressed by the food and service there! The dessert spread is as extensive as their appetisers and main courses. If you are a dessert lover like me, this is a buffet that you should not miss. Also, I would recommend that you make reservations in advance as the restaurant is usually packed!

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Now at Resorts World Sentosa!

Did you know that Krispy Kreme has opened an outlet at Resorts World Sentosa? It is the first doughnut chain to open its doors on location. Also, this would make it the seventh Krispy Kreme outlet in Singapore. An accomplishment for a chain that first opened in Singapore at Tangs Orchard in October 2013. I also just found out that their commissary kitchen is halal certified.

We went down on the opening day to try out some of the newer offerings like the mini doughnuts and Kool Kreme Ultimate Dessert!

Coastes: Great Hangout by The Beach

Coastes is one of my absolute favourite places to hang out and I think I fell in love with it on my very first visit there about a year ago. Nothing beats having a good view of the beach, no deadlines to meet and plenty of satisfying good food around.

The eatery is situated along Siloso Beach at Sentosa, and nestled among the coconut trees. It is a place with numerous blue, white and brown tables, huge beige beach umbrellas, as well as a stretch of sunbeds leading all the way to the edge of the water.

Let us be realistic, the beaches in Singapore will never be able to compare with the famous beaches in our neighbouring countries, but this is as good as it gets for a Singapore beach.

Champagne Brunch at The Knolls, Capella Singapore

Here I am breaking the monotony of my Greece posts with a food one. I had the pleasure of dining at The Knolls at Capella, Singapore, with Seth and Melissa some time back. It was an exquisite Sunday Brunch and we (literally) wined and dined!

I must also apologise beforehand for the quality of my pictures as I was using my sister’s DSLR (she borrowed my point and shoot for diving), so I was fumbling my way around, but I thought some of the shots came out pretty well.

I can assure you that the setting and the food will sweep you off your feet. We sat at a table next to the windows. Not only did that allow for penetration of natural light (good for taking pictures), we could also take in the scenery and the few peacocks strolling along outside.

The selection of food is very wide here. I think what was also notable was that in addition to the wide variety, they did not cut back on their quality of food.
