Joyden Canton Kitchen (Media Tasting)


I am glad Joyden is expanding! If you have been following my blog, you would have read about my visit to Joyden Seafood Restaurant in West Coast, which has been serving up some of the best seafood for about ten years. Now, they have established a new restaurant called Joyden Canton Kitchen at HillV2 Shopping Centre, a new mall in Hillview.


It was my first visit to Hillv2 Shopping Centre and not the last as I intend to return to check out their many food outlets! So on to my meal at Joyden…




The interior while no less well-renovated as Joyden Seafood, is noticeably more laidback and comforting. The restaurant is set for families having a wholesome meal together, with its minimalistic and contemporary interior of cosy four-seaters and larger tables for eight to ten diners.

The owner made extensive field trips to various part of Guangdong Province in China to better understand the essence of Cantonese cuisine and took six months to conceptualise the menu by using the freshest produce married with skilful culinary techniques.


Peanuts, a typical Chinese restaurant snack, and assorted condiments to go along with your dish. I must say it has been some time since I have had good sambal served at a Chinese restaurant and theirs is pretty good.



We were served their Homemade Hawthorne and Apple Drink ($4). Brewed over a low flame, the drink retains the natural sweetness of both ingredients. The drink is made fresh daily.
