My Visit to Hello Kitty Orchid Garden @ Changi Airport Terminal 3

Did you know that Hello Kitty Orchard Garden is the world’s first 24-hour Hello Kitty Cafe? The cafe at Changi Airport Terminal 3 opened its doors last month and has since attracted many patrons. Other than featuring the iconic feline, you can also expect to find Singapore’s national flower being proudly displayed all around the interior.

There are a couple of Insta-worthy photo spots, where you can pose with 3D life-sized figurines of Hello Kitty. Besides that, you can also purchase Singapore-exclusive merchandise at the retail corner, which is adjacent to the entrance. This includes tea blends, plush toys, DIY plant kits and postcards.

As you can see, you can find the cafe logo everywhere! It is on the bottles, wooden trays and even on the food! I really enjoyed the assorted Kitty Coolers ($7.90 each), especially Summer Pop, which contains ginger ale, raspberry and violette. However, as pretty as the Latte ($5.90) may be, I would not recommend it.

Over The Rainbow Salad ($15.90). Mesclun salad, Portobello mushrooms, pineapples, jackfruit, feta cheese, pine nuts and laksa mustard vinaigrette. This is one dish which I really enjoyed and it carried a strong local flavour/ influence.

If you are thinking of ordering something to share, look no further than this Hola Nachos ($15.90). The tortilla chips are fried till they are crisp, and then accompanied with cheese sauce, Parmesan, jalapenos, olives, onions and cherry tomato salsa.

Enchanted Forest ($17.90). Prawn quesadillas, avocado, caramelised onions, cheddar and wasabi sesame mayonnaise. This is a dish not on the Limited Menu. Should you visit the cafe between midnight to 6am, there is only a Limited Menu offered at the cafe.

Big Breakfast Surprise ($18.50). Hard-to-resist Hello Kitty waffles with cheddar, scrambled eggs, Shiitake mushrooms, smoked duck and honey lime maple syrup.

Cowabunga! Wagyu! ($24). Wagyu beef rendang, onions, pineapple, Japanese rice, Mesclun salad with ponzu sauce. The dish incorporates both brisket and rump to provide different textures. I would highly encourage tourists to try this version of our popular local dish!

While I must say the combination of pandan and gula melaka hits the right spot, I preferred the pandan panna cotta I had at Argo. Nevetheless, Hide & Seek ($16.90), which is served with vanilla gelato, passionfruit and strawberry marshmallow sauce, is definitely both photogenic and yummy.

The Cat in Paradise ($18.50). I love the mixture of sweet and tart in this mango mousse cake, which is served with candied orange, hazelnut gelato, green apple and strawberry marshmallow sauce.

Sad to say, both the desserts dish above are not available on the Limited Menu.

Gelato (single scoop $6, double scoop $8.90), with a choice of sauce, fruits, crunch, Hello Kitty Cookie and Hello Kitty Chocolate at additional costs. There are eight flavours to choose from (Chocolate, Chocolate Peanut Buttercup, Hazelnut, Mango, Matcha, Pistachio, Vanilla and Wild Strawberry).

Overall, the queue is still quite long (about 1.5 hours), but a little birdie told me the best window for visiting is on weekday mornings before 11am!
