This has to be my first beauty related event! Sothys has recently launched their Diamond Programme, introducing Energy Booster Serum ($279, 30ml) and Energising Radiance Ampoule ($49, 2x 1ml). This skin energising duo promises to restore vitality and luminosity to skin of any age with the use of Siberian ginseng in four weeks.
The concept of using Siberian ginseng was guided by the founder of Sothys, Mr Bernard Mas. Based on research, Siberian ginseng is able to improve the skin’s quality by protecting the mitochondria and preserving the skin’s energy source.
The even was held at Adrift by Celebrity Chef David Myers, located at lobby of Marina Bay Sands Hotel Tower 2. The restaurant is simply gorgeous! In addition to the main dining area, the restaurant as a bar as well as a second dining room just off the main dining area.
While we listened to Ms Cheryl Lee, General Manager of Sothys Singapore and Malaysia, and Ms Fany Deveze explain about the effects of both products, we got to savour ginseng-infused canapes specially concocted by Executive Sous Chef William Gumport for this event. The incorporation of ginseng into the food is supposed to help energise our skin.
Upon arrival, we were each given a door gift which includes both the Energy Booster Serum as well as two of the Energising Radiance Ampoule, as part of our home skincare regime. In the most ideal situation for the effects to be visible, you are recommended to use the ampoule on alternate days for a month and the serum for two months.
We were also able to try out the Energy Booster Serum on our hands there and the effect was quick yet subtle. According to Sothys, the serum will aid the skin in renewing, energising and illuminating. My left hand, with the use of the serum, seemed to be fairer and more radiant a few minutes after putting on the serum.
I have yet to try the ampoule, but the ampoule is supposed to be applied on the face after face cream and one interesting thing about the ampoule is that it can be blended with foundation for more long lasting make up. We were recommended to use it as an instant energy boost as it acts like an instant transparent mask to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Since the day I received the skin energising duo, I have been using the serum (as pictured above) daily in the morning and at night before I sleep. Other than Siberian ginseng extract, the serum also contains rice peptides to increase Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) production, which is responsible for transferring energy within cells, and grafted glycolic acid to increase the cell renewal process through exfoliating action.
For your information, the Sothys line is currently only available exclusively in certain beauty institutes and spas and you can find them by clicking here.
And one last thing! I had one more thing to take home with me! A Mayer Dolce Cake Maker I won from the lucky draw. Happy!
