Restaurant Week 2015: Napoleon Food & Wine Bar @ Telok Ayer Street

This was my first Restaurant Week meal and one of the more memorable ones. Napoleon Food & Wine Bar is a cozy restaurant situated on Telok Ayer Street, with a rather quirky sense of design as the seats are fabricated in the style of Napoleon’s uniform with a “pocket” for the iPad menu. The restaurant also has an extensive collection of European wines, which line the side of the main dining area.

Tuna Nicoise Salad. Lightly seared tuna with a pinch of pepper, served with mixed salad, olive crumbs, crispy potatoes, French Beans, boiled egg and lemon emulsion. Points for both presentation and taste.

Slow-Cooked Chicken in Red Wine. Six hours slow-cooked marinated chicken leg in red wine, carrot puree, asparagus, braised baby carrots and shimeiji mushrooms. Extremely tender and juicy chicken leg. Impressed.

Artisan Low Fat Yoghurt and Strawberry Gelato, served with homemade crumble. A wonderful ending to a yummy meal!

Chocolate Ganache with Artisan Vanilla Ice Cream. Chocolate ganache with coffee crumble, chocolate chips, artisan vanilla gelato and raspberry coulis. Rich chocolate with a slightly salty crumble, which was a surprising touch.
