This is going to be a very short post! School has just started so I am still getting into the swing of things, making it difficult to take time out to blog.
Sis and I checked out Manbok Chinatown Korean BBQ Buffet Restaurant during the weekend. It is a stone’s throw away from Chinatown MRT Station and it scored well on Hungrygowhere.
The restaurant offers both marinated and non-marinated meat, like pork collar, chuck tender, chicken thigh and chicken breast. On top of that, they also serve cooked food like jap chae (Korean glass noodles) and ddeokbokki (Korean rice cakes), not to forget the typical steamboat offerings of ramen, vegetables, etc.
The variety of food there is not plentiful. In fact, it was rather limited. However, what they lacked in quantity, they made up for it in quality. The marinated chicken and pork were very popular that day.
Each table comes with a grill and a steamboat. The staff was very attentive and every time our grill looked dirty, he would change a new one for us. A good thing about this place is that you can customise the spiciness of your soup by adding the amount of chilli you prefer.
Desserts, which came in the form of Frosty Vanilla and Chocolate Ice Cream, can be found in the freezer.
After lunch, we headed to the nearby Mei Heong Yuen for some snow ice.
This Chendol Snow Ice ($6) is served with attap seed, red bean, chin chow (grass jelly) and green jelly. You are given a bottle of gula melaka syrup to douse your dessert with as much an amount as you want. You can also find interesting flavours like Chocolate Banana and Watermelon Lychee snow ice there.
