For those who are not familiar with MEDZS, it is a Mediterranean restaurant, with cuisine from Spain, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Greece, Italy and France. The concept behind the restaurant is similar to Marche, where you get a card at the entrance and place your order with it.
Here are some items from their Christmas menu:
Over Roasted Pork Roulade with Provencal Herbs and Confit Garlic ($68 for 1.2kg). A roll-up of the pork belly with bacon and MEDZS’ recipe nuts filling at the centre of the layers. Extremely succulent and it tasted really good with the homemade gravy.
Oven Roasted Crispy Pork Knuckle with Bratwurst ($68 for 1.5kg). Tender and juicy meat within roasted crispy skin. I preferred the roulade to this.
Mediterranean Spice Infused Whole Turkey with Foie Gras and Chestnut Stuffing ($118 for 4kg). The meat is roasted perfectly, and served with gravy and cranberry sauce.
Prawn Aglio Olio ($19.90). This is from their ala carte menu. The prawns were really huge but I did not fancy having olives in my aglio olio.
This is another item from their ala carte menu, Rosti with Parma Ham ($12.90). The rosti was moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. I like that they have an option with parma ham.
Truffle Fries, also from the ala carte menu. This was served with garlic mayo which was strangely addictive.
Last item from the ala carte menu… Mushroom Soup with a frothy top!
Moving on to desserts!
Chocolate Pralines ($15.90 for box of five). Presented in five different artisan flavours: Hazelnut Cream, Peppermint Cream, Coconut Candy, Chewy Caramel and Nutty Cranberry.
The caramel one was yummy but the sweetness was quite hard to take (sweet-tooth speaking here). Coconut Candy was a hit among the few of us.
MEDZS Rainbow Log Cake ($46.90 for 1.2kg). This is a limited edition just for the festive season. Seven layers forming a rainbow connection with flavoured cream between the layers of sponge.
I did not expect the layers to be flavoured, since most rainbow cakes are merely just colouring. However, I could taste some of the layers (cream cheese, orange cream, caramel, blueberry, peppermint & chocolate chips and almond). No wonder this is voted ‘Best Rainbow Cake’ by 8 Days magazine.
Belgian Dark Callebaut Log Cake ($43.90 for 1.2kg). Made with 100% Belgian dark Callebaut chocolate and rolled with crispy chocolate pears between layers of chocolate sponge and truffle cream.
If you are interested, you can place an order or make an enquiry at any of their outlets (Millenia Walk, Clifford Centre or Orchard Central). Orders must be made three days in advance and a delivery charge of $30 will apply to each order.
