Great Lunch Sets at Sumiya Charcoal Grill Izakaya

I am so glad that my sis found this authentic Japanese restaurant on the twelfth floor of Orchard Central and brought us there for lunch! It was such an amazing find! And it is so awesome I just had to recommend it to you so that you will get to know about their incredible lunch deals too!

Sumiya is created by award-winning Master Chef, Mr Naoki Tsuzuki of Kuriya Dining, a Japanese fine dining restaurant at Great World City. Sumiya has recently upgraded their Grand Menu with more of their signature charcoal-grilled items, fresh fish and seafood flown from Japan.

And while I might be loving my pretty Kate Spade bag, that is not the main point here. For all you ladies out there who have experienced putting your bag behind your chair and having to sit at the edge of your seat, Sumiya has tables with hooks so that you can hang your bags and sit with ease!

Their lunch menu is priced from $15.80 and offers sets which come with an appetiser, pickles, salad, miso soup, chawanmushi, dessert and free flow of green tea.

We tried their Mix Bara Kaisen Don Set ($18.80) and Japan Wagyu Beef Aburi Don Set ($30.80).

The Bara Kaisen Don comes with a huge mountain of assorted fresh seafood sashimi and avocado chunks on rice.

Soft and silky smooth chawanmushi that comes with every set.

As for the Wagyu Abui Don, imagine Japanese wagyu beef marinated with garlic sauce and seared to maintain its tender texture and sweet fatty taste!

And we had sweet and chewy sesame mochi for dessert.

Some of the items on their lunch menu have limited servings a day like the Nama Hon Maguro Mixed Don which comes with fresh bluefin tuna sashimi chunks, including toro (tuna belly) and kura (salmon roe), is limited to eight servings daily.

I have attached a picture of their ala carte menu just in case you want to try something other than what is available for the lunch sets.
